Bulk import your customer and helpmonks users records to update

You have the option to import users, both internal users, and customers, with a CSV file. The CSV file should have the values comma-separated, where the very first row are the column names!

Import of customer records

Note: There is actually no need to import users as email addresses are automatically stored on every email sent to your mailbox

In order to import user records successfully, your CSV should have the following columns. Columns must be in lowercase:

email = Email address
first_name = First name
last_name = Last name
company_id = The ID of a company (New: as of Nov. 15th, 2017)
labels = The exact name of the label (*) (New: as of April 30th, 2020)
labels_id = The ID of the label (*) (New: as of April 30th, 2020)

(*): You can also use a “:” separated list to add labels, e.g., Marketing:Trial:Demo.

Please note that the label’s names are case-sensitive! You do not need to provide a “labels” and a “labels_id” value if you only have one. However, you always need to create an empty value in your CSV file (this is automatically done in Excel)

Import of Helpmonks users

In order to import user records successfully your CSV should have the following columns (header):

email = Email address
first_name = First name
last_name = Last name
password = Password (at least 6 characters) (Passwords will be encrypted!)
active = true for active, false for inactive

Note: Columns should be written in lowercase!

Updating records
Records will get updated when the email-address matches!
(this works for all fields, except the email-address!)

I’ve been trying to import users, but as soon as I select the file, it starts to load the page and after a while of waiting, it keeps showing the same message:
“504 Gateway Time-out”/nginx.

I already cleaned the cache/cookies, our connection is ok and it still not working.

Please send us your CSV file to support@helpmonks.com so we can test and see. Thank you.

A bit late, but a small addition for other users that might have the same problem.

I to wanted to import users and kept getting the 504 after selecting the file.
For me the problem was how MS Excel made the CSV.
Excel uses semicolon delimited (at least for EU locales), but Helpmonks wants comma separated. So after saving the file comma delimited the problem was resolved
